David moved to Vallejo, the City of Opportunity, in the Fall of 2003,
in part because Vallejo gave him and his partner of 25 years the opportunity to purchase their first home. "We are very grateful to have chosen such a wonderful neighborhood such as Vallejo Heights. The more neighbors I meet, the more I continue to be amazed and awed at the talent, dedication and passion in this neighborhood. I am grateful and honored to be of service to VNHA."
He lives on B Street in Vallejo Heights with his partner Carleton and their 3 dogs BeBe, Sadie and Cookie and enjoys life in V-Town.
David was elected in 2005 and chose to get involved with VHNA because he has a passion for third option thinking and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse association where all residents have a place at the table and are valuable contributors to its quality of life. |

| At Large |
Katy Miessner |
|
 |
Katy Miessner has been committed to making Vallejo a better place since she moved here. Katy is an active community member and contributes her talents to the MIRA Theatre Guild and other worhty causes. Plus she paints out grafitti in her spare time.
Katy and her husband Jeff Kingman moved to Vallejo in 2000. They specifically chose the Vallejo Heights district because of its proximity to the water and charming houses, views and hills and street pattern, and fascinating and storied history. It also has the feel of a sea-side New England, similar to the town that Katy spent most of her childhood in. When not working as a Budget Director for a large San Francisco non-profit agency or working on community issues in Vallejo, Katy paints portraits, figures and landscapes. She will be running a Marathon in Florence, Italy this November to raise funds for HIV/AIDS services in disenfranchised countries around the world.
Katy joined the VHNA board because she enjoys working with David and the other members to attain a better Vallejo.
