Thanks to finally getting some much needed rain and warm days, the hills are changing from looking parched to green with newly sprouted grasses. It is the perfect time for the March 22, 2014 presentation by Rita LeRoy, from Loma Vista Farm, on “pollinator-friendly, water-wise, edible-landscaping”. Rita identifies these as the big three issues in gardening today. Rita has been working with several entomology experts and attending trainings at U. C. Davis and U. C. Berkeley to learn more about pollinator science.
Rita has degrees in agriculture and education that have been valuable during the 23 years she has worked at Loma Vista Farm. She leads students in learning the fundamentals of gardening, starting flowers and vegetable from seeds, and the importance of good nutrition.
Please mark your calendars to attend the March 22, 2014 meeting of the Vallejo Heights Neighborhood Association for Rita’s informative presentation. The meeting will be held at the Bay Terrace Theater, 51 Daniels Avenue in Vallejo from 10:00 am to Noon. Refreshments, and Moschetti Coffee, will be provided by the VHNA and its members.
